3 FEATURES I lOVE ON MY MALIBU BOAT
Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV
The sun is out and everyone has the bug to buy or upgrade their boat. From both veterans to rookies, I am asked often why did I choose a Malibu 23 LSV. With so many different brands and so many different models within each brand, it can be very confusing and overwhelming. I choose the Malibu Boat because it makes it super easy to shape the wave for me and my students. As a coach and surfer, I need the ability to make the cleanest and most powerful wave for whoever is riding behind the boat. No matter if it is an adult or a child, with a click of few buttons, I can make the perfect wave for them. Malibu boats have these features and that’s why I love my Malibu.
Below are the 3 features that accomplish my needs as a surfer and coach.
Surf Gate- With a push of a button, the surf gate opens up and creates a clean and POWERFUL wave. Trim tabs can be confusing and tricky as you navigate through all the settings. The surf gate is engaged or not which makes it easy to use.
Power Wedge- With a push of a button, the power wedge can instantly shape the wave for the rider while they are on the water. I can easily create a clean long wave or a clean short wave without having to add or drain water from the boat. As I ride, I like to shape the wave differently depending on if I am on a skim or surf-style board. It is amazing how one click makes a difference.
Isolated Ballast Tanks - With the push of a button, I can fill only the front hard tank which allows me to create a smaller and less intimidating wave for little surfers. This is nice because people are not constantly moving around in the boat. The lift mode on the power wedge also adds the ability to make an even smaller wave with a click of a button.
I understand there are many variables in making a decision in buying a boat. As an avid surfer and coach, the performance options behind the boat are very important to me. There are many other factors to consider and a lot of those are subjective such as style and what you value. This is my opinion based on my needs.
